MBFWA Part 3: Ten Points for Ten Pieces

Sportswear stepped out of the gym and onto the runways this week. More specifically, stepped into Bondi’s Icebergs pool. The DRY Icebergs pool.

The pool at Bondi’s Icebergs Dining Room was drained and transformed into a runway for the relatively new label “Ten Pieces”. Nothing says sportif better than models in black and white racing stripes walking laps in this stunning Sydney location on this stunning Sydney day.

Ten Pieces launched in 2011 and is inspired by Japanese punk and streetwear. The typically relaxed brand showed a monochromatic 10 piece unisex collection which was kept clean and fresh with sophisticated athletic elements.

Ten Pieces Icebergs Pool Drained MBFWA 15

I believe Etam Lingerie also held a fashion show in a drained Pool at Paris Fashion Week recently. However, that pool was already drained and non-operational. Ten Pieces specifically drained the iconic Icebergs pool on a hot, busy day in Bondi for this acclaimed industry event.

Ok, so the designer, Maurice Terzini, owns Icebergs Dining Room and Bar. Nonetheless, this was a show of epic proportions – everyone in the industry is still raving about it and wont forget it in a hurry. Ten Pieces made quite a splash at Fashion Week (sorry, I couldn’t help myself)!
